The BL9 will sound better if you furnish a little bit your room... And the BL5 will not sound as good as it can sound in your empty livingroom...

My wife's parents will offer us a big carpet for christmas, that's some good news!

About the BL5, I've already ordered them...they should be delivered on december the 6th...

I once installed a pair of Beolab 5's in a room with an exposed stone wall, polished ceramic floor, 3 glass walls and a high, angled glass ceiling. There were no soft furnishings of any description and it sounded terrible!

I have a similar problem where I live as I have very high ceilings and a polished floor in the main room although it isn't as bad as that. You definitely do need some soft furnishings for good sound, especially with powerful speakers.

Here are shots (taken from my B&O store) of the BL5 close to a BV10-40:

The fact I decided to buy (today) some BL5 to replace my BL9 is because I felt like touching the angels hands but not god's...If you understand what I mean.

To me, as a B&O fan for years, I've always wanted to get some BL5 as they are the Holy Grail for me.

Now that I have BL9, I think about replacing them with BL5....

But I don't know what it would look like close to my BV10-40.
