I love my BV8 [√] but I am not sure I would include it.

My criteria for "best" would be those designs which break away from the common perception of what the device "should" be, so:

Beolab 6000 [√]

Beosound 9000

BV5

Overture (and all its descendents)

I had not realised he did the BS2 [√] and I think I would add it to the above list even though it became a dead end.

And although the Beo4 [√] is great I am not sure I would classify it as ground -breaking.

I like the Beocenter 2 too. Much more 'real' B&O than the Beosound 4. I never liked the design of that - and it's very light and have this 'plastic'-feeling. Those plastic-buttons...
The 'magic' does not come from just a moving glass-door -it's an overall feeling which the BS 4 is missing, in my opinion.

Some find it bulky, I find it just perfect, it's the Beovision Avant.

It was immediate love back in 1995, but the price...

So whent for a combo mx/vx until 2000 (avant 32).

I really regret it today, the BV 10 can't beat it.

I keep switching back and forth between these two ways of setting them up - loving how Lewis' BV8 matches the Beosystem range from decades earlier.

Beosound 2: simple, marvellous sound, long playing time before recharging the battery.

You may enhance the system storage capacity up to a Terabyte (with a little help of 499 SD-cards in addition of the 2 GB SD-card inside)

There are not many mp3 players out of 2001 still working fine.

It's a pitiy that I can't use it on bicycle, because the sound quality shows no difference between virtual reality and real life with a deadly result, if you realise that the sirene in a radio drama belonged to an ambulance car crashing with you a few seconds later ...

Yes -both the Penta's and the Beovox/Beolab 3000/4500/5000 was designed by Gideon and Lone Lindinger-Lowy. A pity that they didn't do more work for B&O.

I always liked the AV 9000, Beosound Overture, Beolab 8000, Beolab 6000 combo. The Beosound 9000 is another favorite. David Lewis designed many B&O icons during his career. Sound wise the Beolab 5 is on top. The design took time to get use to.

I love ALL products designed by David Lewis, he was a really great designer. His spirit is always around me in my home.
