The stereo seems to live a life of its own from time to time. It changes source i.e. from TV to Radio(or similar) on its own. First I thought that it was due to plasma interference from my Panasonic TV. However, I have proven that the TV is not to blame.

I think that the problem is due to the fact that the datalink signal going into the Beolink converter is not connected and hence the level might actually change a bit from time to time. I think that this might cause the converter to send faulty instructions to the stereo.

So, does anyone have any ideas on how to avoid this? I don't know enough about the protocol to come up with a good solution but I would suspect that somehow forcing the datalink pin high or low might do the trick. Right now it's just floating around... :-)

Re: Connecting a non-b&o tv to a masterlink audio using beolink converter

Brilliant - one never ceases to learn ...

Re: Connecting a non-b&o tv to a masterlink audio using beolink converter

I can confirm this, I used it to play my Ipod on the Masterlink network, connect the audio source to the AV.AUX input on the converter, and if you have no video master of course, pressing "TV" on your Beo4 will activate the ext. audio source; it also works on link products such as a BeoLab 2000.

Re: Connecting a non-b&o tv to a masterlink audio using beolink converter

It actually works very well with a Beolink Converter. I have a Beosound Ouverture(A.option2) connected to a beolink converter via masterlink. The non-B&O TV audio out is connected to the converter.

Pressing TV on the Beo4 starts the audio master and the TV(via a Lintronic box). Sweet!

Re: Connecting a non-b&o tv to a masterlink audio using beolink converter

Saxpy:

... just dreaming or is this possible to do?

All B&O audio masters have an AUX input - use it to feed the
audio out of your TV directly into the audio system.

Maybe your "dreaming" is about this issue:

In a MasterLink system you can connect a non B&O source, eg. a TV
locally to the PC input of a BeoLink Aktive.

This will require a special adapter cable beeing described here:
http://forum.beoworld.org/forums/p/15997/281702.aspx#281702

If you press "PC" you can send the sound of the local source to speakers
connected to the BeoLink Aktive - but not "back" to other rooms.

Connecting a non-b&o tv to a masterlink audio using beolink converter

So I believe that I have read somewhere that it's possible to connect a non-B&O using a Beolink Converter kit to a masterlink audio master. The reason is that I would like to have the audio from the TV feed into my stereo. I would like to just press TV on the beo4 and have my stereo turn on using the audio feed through the beolink converter.

I just don't seem to be able to find the thread... Was I just dreaming or is this possible to do?
