I have tested the whole range, including BL 4000 and BL3 as center speaker. both 7-1 and 7-4 outperform the rest by far....furthermore it is quite difficult to get a single BL3.

I would strongly recommend to stick with the 7-1...

yes at the moment the 8-40. The 7-40 should be fixed above the sideboard, on the the sideboard I`d like to place the speaker. I`d like to keep the sideboard because I´ve to hide AppleTV and DVB-C receiver.

Did you not have a BV8 40 ?

Will the BV7 40 on a wall not be an option? above the sideboard

Quader, there is no way to playe a 7.4, because it has to be fixed vertical.

i would suggest 7.4 in 5.1 setup

I had a similar situation and used a BL4 as a central speaker, the sound was fine (I know they are not well thought of speakers but I really like them). I then bought a 7.1 for my BV7-40 (same issues with speaker size) and it looks and sounds infinitely better.

I used to think the BL4 looked good but looking back now there is no comparison. I can't comment on the sound of the BL3 but purely from an aesthetic point of view stick with a 7.1 if you can.

Hi guys,

yesterday I have had a little discussion with a friend. I`m planning to order the new 7-40 with BL7.1 speaker (BL7.2 is too larger for the sideboard, BL7.4 does not fit). Frontspeakers BL9, rearspeakers BL4000 MKII. My friend gave me the advice not to buy the BL7.1 but instead a single BL3. The BL3 would be of course not in the same league, but would complemend the BL9 much better than a BL7.1. Because I do not have the possiblity to listen to such a setup, I was wondering if anybody does have any expierence. I also think, it will look a little strange?
