I think you need quite a late version of the SW to get it to work maybe?

My 5500 is connected to a BV7 using a 1611 and I don't have to use any AV keys at all.

You're right, early (not updated) BM5500s won't support Datalink via the MCL connectors and I'm sure this is the case for the audio aux link as well. I believe the receiver should have a "Datalink" sticker in the back if it is one of the later units - of course the sticker might have fallen off.

Re: Help! - Linking BV3 with Beomaster 5500

I think you need quite a late version of the SW to get it to work maybe?

As Guy Said, you nede a 7 Pin DIN Audio Aux Link cable. Connected the Aux port of your BM5500 to Audio Aux Link of BL converter and connected a powerlink cable to BM5500 and BL converter if speakers are connected to your BV.

BV should be set to V.OPT2 and BM5500 to A.OPT0. Or set your BV to V.OPT1 and your BM to A.OPT1.

To get Radio throught the TV speakers I then press 'AV' then 'Radio'. To get SAT through the BC9500 I press 'AV' then 'SAT'. Both my TV and BC are in the same room, hence both are set to Option 1.

I'm looking for a little bit of help connecting my Beovision 3 with a newly-purchased Beomaster 5500. I'm simply trying to get the TV sound through the amp & speakers, and vice-versa to get radio through the TV.

Using the information I've found so far, I've connected them up as below, using a 1611 Beolink Converter:

BV3 - ML Cable - Type 1611 Beolink Converter - 7 Pin DIN (PowerLink Socket) - Tape2/AUX (Beomaster 5500)

In theory, this should then work - using either a Beolink 1000 or Beo4, the BV3 switches on and goes to Sat/TV, and the Beomaster goes to AUX, but no sound comes out of the linked device. I'm using [AV] [SAT] [SAT] for example to get this far.

Could anyone give me some guidance as to what I need to do to get this sorted?

Thanks in advance!

Mike
