So now looking into making use of LexCom distribution central and the ML and Ethernet modules (gigabit are now available). So the standard LexCom DPM distribution central looks like a good starter. Any hints and tips regarding config for this central?

and the modular jacket (cat6a):

At least it's my understanding that the BS9000 should be able to make use of the speakers connected to the BV10; but then again; does it work with above examples? Also, what option value should be used for the various units?

Re: ML/CAT wiring projects

Well, here is the init draft of the unit placement in the current building; the image shows (from top down) 2nd floor, first floor and the tiny basement.

The plan is to wire up the house with a star network using double CAT7 cabling to be used for Ethernet and BeoNet; then the idea was to wire up one seperate segment for the old MasterLink; this would then not be a star network. Guess that I'm not the only one which has headache with mixed old units and as well waiting for the new BeoNet

Re: ML/CAT wiring projects

Well, my plan is to wire up each of the drops with minimum CAT7 cabling to ensure that I can have both a ethernet and masterlink connectivity.

What I'm looking for are following:

Combo PL + 230V to drive BL8000 or plain single PL jacks

Combo ML + 230V to drive BL3500 or plain single ML jacks

For above I'm intersted of suggestions for both wall and floor mounted jacks and what else of creativity fellow BW users has to suggest. So highly interested of pictures of above including how you done on your own side.

For example how has other solved to hide the power supply for BeoCom and BeoTalk? Are you using plain PVC coundit pipes? In the current house I've managed to get 4xCAT5e cables into 20mm PVC coundit pipes for my normal ethernet (not big fan of wireless if I can avoid it).

Re: ML/CAT wiring projects

if your not on a tight budget I recommend to most to run 3-4 Cat7 lines to each location they think they may put equipment, wether it be B&O or not. For the little more you'll pay now, you won't be cornered later in your decision making.

Re: ML/CAT wiring projects

I have got standard wallmounted network sockets for RJ45 and then my B&O dealer made some RJ45 to ML cables for almost nothing. The Encore has no ML, but Ethernet. In my opinion you should run 2 CAT wires to each port: one for ML and the other for a standard Ethernet network. I have the same in my house. Once ML to Ethernet adapters are available (Beonet) you can convert ML to Beonet.

ML/CAT wiring projects

Hello,

As I'm going to wiring up a house that we're currently renovating I've been looking for ideas, diagram, suggestion for wiring up a house; aware that this is for indivual taste. But, for my own project I'm looking to connect kitchen, living room, dinning room, office, library, bedroom and bathroom. In the link system there will be BS9000, BV10, BeoPort, Encore, BL8000, BL3500. So kind of interested of how other done similar wiring.
