&lt;p&gt;The convenient design with DataLink on all outputs, Acess to use active BeoLabs and remote controls can cause some problems. They can be solved, but the 4000 has the advantage of being of a simpler design.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;The BM6500 will power all Beovox and Beolabs as well. Some Beovox would be better suited though. The output is mot likely around 2*55 not 110 as stated so make sure the Beovox&amp;#39;s can handle that. &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;What is better is up to you and your ears. Do you like the design better? Do you like the sound better?&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Do you need everything being controlled with a Beolink 100 /Beo4 or MCP6500?&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;A BM4000 is late &amp;#39;70s and a good one if it still works correctly.&lt;/p&gt;
