Spoke to my dealer today and the BV7 is still covered under guarantee.
I did some checks at lunch time today, i tired to play some bluray films that i own rather than a rental and they did not play also, dvd&amp;#39;s however do play it appears the not playing has got worse and worse over the last few months and now they dont play at all.
so now i must wait for news on whats next.

The BRD driver of 7-40 does not work with all disks. It&amp;#39;s not a reliable driver. It got much improved on the 7-55. I just put in a film and it says no disk or that it cannot play this disk.
There are no updates to be done to the front end via Ethernet.
Any thoughts on this.
How can I clean the drive to make sure it&amp;#39;s not that.
As soon as I put the disk into ps3 it plays st8 awY
