Beocom2 Base Registration Problem

Hi All,

I have just dusted off and recharged my old Beocom2 after about 5 years in storage. Deleted the old numbers etc... and then replaced the battery pack. However, I am still having no luck in trying to get the thing to register to the base station (This is a Mk1 base station) – the rectangular plastic one without the reset button or light.

I have instigated through setup of the phone a search for base immediately after switching on the but nothing.

Is it likely that the BC2 has developed a software issue or are base stations known to be faulty? Any input would be helpful.
