First clean the laser lens.
Still no luck - replace capacitors on the servo board, a kit exists for this (soldering and basic electronic skills needed).
Still no luck - replace the laser.

I bought this equipment in Copenhagen many years ago at the store in Stroget , and imported into Chile, where I live. In those days there was no B&O presence here, but today there are two stores and a technical service, which is really lousy. It took one and one half months to let me know they have to change the laser reader of the CD, and that they have no spare part for this, or at least no access to it.

What they did tell me is that there is a kit to change the old magnetic laser reader for a newer type, but it is for serial numbers starting around 12000000 and upwards. The serial number on my unit is 10718754.

Anyway, I am looking for either the original magnetic laser reader, which is part # 8001546 (PCB 8), or for the new adapter kit that would fit my serial number.

I am so proud of owning this spectacular unit both for the quality of the audio and the superb design, and want to be sure to keep it working for a long long time.

Being a B&O fan I also own a Beosystem 2500.Works beautifully in spite of the many years I have had it.

If anyone can be of help regarding the CD reader I would be very gratefull.
