All BeoVisions that have have a SurroundSound decoder :-)

BeoVisions used to be fitted with Analog Devices decoders, which are indeed excellent; much better than an AE DAC anyway

DAC and B&O

Hi,

it's well known that the DAC of an Airport Express is not very good. So it is recommended not to use the analogue audio output, but the digital audio output and an external DAC if you want to reach a good sound quality when streaming music to an AE and hearing over B&O equipment.

If you use for this purpose an Apple TV (which has no internal DAC and no analogue audio output) you connect the digital output (HDMI and/or audio) directly to a Beovision. There is no need for an external DAC because in this case the internal DAC of the Beovision is used.

My question is: Is the internal DAC of a Beovision of a good quality or is it also better to use an external DAC?

Regards

Räuber
