This may inhibit its use in certain set ups. One way around this is to tape over the ir sensor under the front of the unit, this effectively puts it into option 0 as it stops respoding to ir signals.

I guess I was confused with the Master Control Link, Master Link, Data Link, MCL...seems a bit more clear to me now! :-)

So I guess if I connect the 7 pin link cable to the Beolink Converter on the AV 9000, I will be good to go..

And yes, its time for me to upgrade to Gold now I believe..:-)

They are all MCL models.

The first ML equipped audio model was the Beosound Ouverture.

I suspect that you will need a Beolink Converter Type 1611 to interfaced with the ML of the AV9000.

Suggest you download the System Configurator to check.

*edit* sorry, we had a power cut just as I was going to press POST

Re: Beocenter 9000 and Master Control Link

BC9500/9300 are not equipped with Masterlink. I had a BC9500 connected to my old AV9000 via a 7pin datalink cable - Beolink converter - ML cable.

BC9000 also got a 7pin AUX connection with datalink - as said in the manual . So I think this setup will also work with a BC9000. You won`t need Master control Link for this purpose. You will need a BL converter 1610 (AV9000 audio kit) or maybe a 1611 will work. BC9000 has no Powerlink sockets, just preamp out. Connect your BL 5000 to the Beovision. BL5000/3000 should work with AV9000 for all channels. Use fully wired PL cables to get the displays working and set Beolabs switch to "VIDEO".

You will also find the BC9000 user manual in the "User- and service manuals section" here on Beoworld. Just upgrade to gold/silver....:)

Hope this helps.

I am about to buy a pair of Beolab 5000 and with them comes a Beocenter 9000 and a Master Control Link.
As far as I know ( please correct me if I am wrong) the BC 9000 lacks the Master Link capabilites of the 9300 and 9500 and also the the two-way remote capability of the 9500.

Apart from that, its is basically the same exept for the cosmetics ( this one has a brushed alu surface), correct?

My question: since I get this Beocenter 9000 together with a Master Control Link, I would be able to connect it to my AV 9000, since it would more or less be like a 9300 wich has a built in Master Link, am I right?
And use the Beolab 3000/5000 I use as surround speakers connected to the TV?

Thankful for any input on this configuration...
