OK, but if you have a BV 7-40 MkI, take a look at the connections and you will see if there is a DVI input. If so, you can connect the Mac Mini to it with a special cable.

Sorry, what do you mean by "AVI"??

AVI is a format for video files.

Hi stamko,

you have two options to get picture and sound of your Mac Mini on your BV 7:

1. For picture: Connect the yellow output of the apple adapter with the yellow Composite input at BV 7,

For sound: Connect the audio output of Mac Mini to the red and white Composite input at BV 7.

2. For picture: Connect a S-Video cable between the apple adapter and the above mentioned scart adapter,

For sound: Connect the audio output of Mac Mini to red and white Composite input of the scart adapter,

Finally put the scart adapter into the scart input of BV 7.

The second option gives you the better picture quality of S-Video.

As a matter of interest, the Apple adapter you refer to, does the output from the single yellow socket produce full colour when plugged into the yellow composite socket of a TV or have you only used it via the Svideo output?

Lets start again: I need to connect two different inputs with minimal quality losses, including audio, to my BV7-40 MkI which only has Scart and Composite inputs (red, yellow, white)

Input 1: HDMI

I cannot see how the simple adapter referred to above can produce full colour via a composite TV Input.

Is it being said that with one cable from the yellow socket on the ATV (leaving the green & blue not connected) to the yellow socket on the adapter above produces full colour via scart on an Avant?

But please, if this has definitely worked then thanks you for the information.

Yes, but you can also use a S-Video cable for the picture to get a better picture quality.

So the yellow output from the apple adapter is only video? so i just need one cable connecting the yellow output with the yellow input of the TV and just a normal audio jack for the audio?

But that's a "Composite to Scart adapter". If the TV has scart AND Composite input, then there's no need for an adapter.

1. To connect the apple adapter to your BV 7-40 MkI you need a scart adapter like this one:

To get the sound, your Mac Mini has probably an additional output.

2. Yes, this converter works fine, I use the same with my Avant and Apple TV 2.

I have a BV7-40 MkI type 9351 and i'd like to connect thwo followin devices:

1 - Mac Mini / this has a Mini DVI to Video adapter http://store.apple.com/uk/product/M9319G/A?mco=MTY3ODQ5OTY but my TV has Scart and a Composite input only. Will this work? Which cable to i need? What about the sound?
