This enables you to use cables also for future Beonet. From the RJ45 sockets you can connect to ML sockets of your devices using special cables that your dealer should be able to deliver. I have this setup at home and it works perfectly.

Refer to the CAT7 manual for background ... I tried posting my copy but I am getting rejections from this site. Just do a seach for the PDF about installation. It has been posted a number of times.

Re: link room tips and tricks

I would use CAT7 cables with RJ45 wall sockets instead of Masterlink.
I want to create two groups, one downstairs and one upstairs.

Downstairs;

Beosound 9000, 32" Avant, Beolab 8000 and 6000 and in linkrooms two Beolab 3500. ( these were likely all purchased in 1996)

Upstairs;

Beocenter 2300, linkrooms 3 or 4 Beolink passive's.

Before I order a 100 mtr roll of Masterlink at Steve's I thought I'd beter ask if there's anything specific I should think of well...

An electricity guy will run all the cables through the house but I guess I'll be connecting my goodies. I do have a ML/MCL which I used to be using between a Beocenter 9500 and the Avant, I will need it upstairs setting up the 2300 and linkrooms. Could I use old junction boxes or should I get new ones?

All comments welcome,
