Wall mount 4000s and they have plenty of bass. They are very flexible speakers - when you go round Struer, you will see 4000s all over the place.

Having both the 4 and the 4000, for what you want, I'd say go for a pair of second-hand 4000s, they'll be better than the new ones with ICE Power amps, and better than the 4s as well, if space is not an issue. Moreover they come with wall brackets and are very flexible when it comes to placement.

I use my BeoLab 4 as PC speakers at work, and for that purpose, they are great for me. At home they were once used as rear speakers in a 5.1 setup; I wouldn't use them for something else.

Judging by your comments, I am guessing you want some speakers which can move some real air!

I'd recommend a pair of used Pentas or 3's budget permitting as a starting point (I know the pentas are old), rather than 4000s, with a view to upgrading to say Beolab 8000/Beolab 3 & Beolab 2 at a later date.

If you like loud music and/or bass - The 4000s and (even more so) the 4s won't cut it to be perfectly honest!

I just went into my dealer and listened to the 4000's, and WOW! I know what I am saving up for lol.

It might be worth waiting for a new pair of speakers, but a good pair of second hand BL4000s is definitely worth it. And when conpare to BL4s, a handsdown winner all the time!

Would agree that 4000's sound very good (by a long way).

$2990 seems expensive. Be patient and wait for a good condition pair to come up on ebay for £600 - £700 ($1200 max). If you're prepared to accept minor cosmetic flaws then you can get them for less.....

I have exactly the same experience than bossbrad : I've owned them all, and the 4000's are by far the best. Bl4 sound really "flat" in comparison. 4000's are more expensive, but they have a better value for money imho.

I have had BeoLab 4's, BeoLab 6000 and BeoLab 4000's. The 4000's blow all the others out of the water in sound quality. The 4's are less then thrilling and the 6000s are great speakers unless you listen to music with lots of bass (although a BeoLab 11 cures that right up).

I would say go for a used pair of 4000's.

I would get a main dock space but at the moment I'm just trying to get a nice pair of speakers.

Get a second hand pair of Beolab 4000s - the Mk1s are in my opinion the better speaker anyway and much better than the Beolab 4.

Considering the choice, I would suggest the Beolab 4000 speakers.

They sound very good as Home Theatre speakers, and can get quite loud. There have been many discussions here before regarding the BL 4000.

You may find that a used or pre-owned pair of speakers is a better value to start building your stereo system.

Hey everyone, I am a huge B&O fan, I bought the A8 headphones not to long ago and am in love with them. I am currently wanting to purchase a pair of speakers. I bought Harmon Kardon soundsticks III recently and somewhat already blew them. I have gotten to the point to where all I do is listen to the headphones because no speakers sound as good. I am a young person and would definitely have to save up for speakers. I am currently debating about the 4's and the 4000's. Does anyone have any advice about what I should get? The 4's are 1000$ from my dealer and the 4000's are 2990$ a pair. I am very grateful for any advice people can give me on what to do! Thanks! Is it really worth 3 times the money? Also, can the 4000's be used well as speakers for watching a movie on a big t.v.? Also, how loud do the 4000's get? Thanks again to all!!!!
