It is not fair to compare the latest 7-40 vs 10-40. Picture is much better and soundwise blows the BL7-1/2/4 the internal speaker of the BV10-40 away.

I was not aware of a rumoured BV11 - perhaps worth the wait and see what is coming out, or if the 7-40 would be updated. In terms of the BV 7-40 vs the BV 10-40/46, am i understanding correctly that the latter has better picture, sound etc (in your opinion)?

the new BV11 will be shown on the yearly dealer meeting in September. I do not think we have to wait longer than end of 2011.

Even if such is the case, the BV11 would be a MK I, so one has to wait up to 2013 in order to be on the safe side.

Or at least wait for the new BV 7-40 3D Mk VI, it will appear in the near future. BV 7-55 3D Mk II was just launched.

BV 11 is just a rumour, nobody knows anything about this tv, only the next generation of tv´s will call BV 11, probably in 2013!

But before spending now more than 10k for the BV7-40 incl. speaker, I think it`s better to wait a view month till we have the information regarding the new BV11. I would like to check the difference 7-40 LCD vs 7-40 LED vs new BV11.

I have now owned a BeoVision 7-40 MKV for just over a year now and I am still so pleased with it. I thought I might fall out of love with it and that it would lose its magic after a while. When my friends see it they are always blown away and when I see other friends TV's I can't believe how they can put up with such inferior quality.

I used to have a BeoVision 6-26 in my bedroom. It was a MKI and didnt have Freeview built in and wasnt HD compatible so the longer I had it the more it made sense to sell it for £1000 and then buy a 32" Samsung LED at £500 which had Freeview HD built in Media Streaming and Full HD. I did this as it made sense to me but wow what a difference! I miss the sound quality so much and the picture on a standard definition RF distributed Sky box on the Samsung is horrible where as the BeoVision 6 did a beautiful job of making an already bad picture look good.

All in all I think B&O make some fantastic products, they get a hard time on this site far too often and often for valid reasons but when they get things right and I think even though the 7-40 is not LED etc it produces a far superior picture to any other branded LED tv on the market. If I had the space I would love to get one of the last BeoVision 9's. Even though my 7-40 is newer I think that the BeoVision 9 is one of the most stunning lookng TV's and the picture was mind blowing! Plus the monitor could probably be swapped out for one of Panasonics new commercial 3D panels...

Just a brief note before things get too gloomy about the HD-ready Mk II. The picture on mine was not very good until I changed my Sky box to one of the 1Tb type. According to various notes, this box has a 165 MHz pixel clock, and as such must use a dual-link mode. The DVI-D adaptor must be capable of carrying this bandwidth.

Like most LCDs, the picture depends on the source. LCDs will show the picture in all its glory (or pixelation).

For example, grab the best Blu-ray, find the best Blu-ray player and you have one of the best pictures in the market. Watch the Dave channel, in standard definition, and you'll see a poor quality picture. The source matters.

I don't notice any pixelation with general use, but you may have been seen a standard definition DVD and it would have to upscale on to the BV7-40 screen. That can cause pixelation. A problem with the source again, I'm afraid.

The BV7-40's picture is superb. Bettered by the BV9 or BV4-65, and maybe even the BV10-46, but it's certainly as good as it gets. HD movies on my BV7-40 MKIV are without fault.
