This is correct. The quality of the Maxell tapes also deteriorated in the 90s, while TDK SA/MA range has always been very good. If Maxell, then go for the models produced in the 80s (still available on Ebay).

I have not noticed a significant diffrence between brands - maybe the problem is between my ears. Ensure that that the automatics recognize the type you are using correctly. In most cases I used TDK SA-X and MA-X. Nowadays both the BC9000 and BC6500 decks are mostly resting.

In 1988 it was always incredible to have 90 minutes of almost uninterrupted hifi playback. LP had typically about 20 minutes and cassettes 45 minutes.

The TDK or Maxell chrome or metal tapes are excellent. As a B&O fan you probably also ought to own a B&O cassette tape (they were produced by BASF, chrome type). They appear sometimes on Ebay.

Very good long lasting tapes I have some 25 years old and still going strong.

The Beocenter 7007 manual states that it is 'adjusted' for the following tape types... Ferro IEC Standard eg BASF LH1, Chrome TDK-SA and Metal TDK-MA on other types treble reproduction may be slightly louder or softer...

Ferro, chrom , metal etc., What is best or......?
