It can be adjusted in steps from 1 to 7, with 1 giving approx 5% IR power and the default value is 4.

This could be handy in a store, or if you have an open floor plan with e.g. the living room and kitchen.

I would recommend to use the standard setup menu on the Beo4 and select "RESET?". If this doesn't improve the response, you may want to access the service menu of the Beo4 and set the IRPWR level yourself: Access the service menu by pressing stby + LIST at the same time, and then MENU + (joystick) at the same time. Press ^ several times until the display reads IRPWR: X. Again, 1 is the lowest and 7 is the max IR signal strength (default is 4).

It's indeed very directionnal but only with BV10.

I have beo4 with navigation wheel, we have changed the remote once, the batteries, the Tv sensor, it's still the same, annoying.

Back to your question, Yes, there's a power setting in Beo4 navigation wheel from 1 to 7 (of course mine is on 7).

I asked one day the technician to explain me how to control this set up but he couldn't remember...

So if somedy knows...

Cheers,

plastic caps being used so I'm guessing that my Beo4 is simply
faulty?

I would think so too, I've never heard of a power setting in a Beo4.
Maybe it has been dropped and something has come loose... it's easy to
open up so perhaps you could take a look inside.

answer - but does Beolink 7000 work in two-way mode with Beomaster
6500?

Yes - it was designed & sold to be used with those systems as well.

Beo4 hidden settings?

I have a Beo4 DTV version. This is not like the rest I have, this one is VERY directional.

Not a distance thing but you have to point it directly at the target. The rest of by Beo4s you can point anywhere you like and it works.

So I changed the batteries, still the same.

Is this a fault or I was just wondering if there was a dealer setting for use in stores to make the Beo4 very directional or set to reduced power etc?

Only thing I've seen is those 'range reducer' plastic caps being used so I'm guessing that my Beo4 is simply faulty?
