The current range of BeoCom2 & 6000 (MK2) are backwards compatible with MK1 PSTN. B&O recommend updating the software in the old base to match the new handsets but not many people bother and they seem to work ok.

The old MK1 handsets will NOT work with new BeoLine PSTN base.

I used a Beocom2 Mk 1 with different DECT bases (Siemens, Sagem, never B&O). My Mk 1 was replaced by a Mk 2 Beocom2 and there is no difference. So I think you will have no problem with two B&O PSTN bases.

The only probleme for me with my Siemens and Sagem bases (with both Mk 1 and Mk 2) is I never had the CLIP on the Beocom.

I am looking to get a Beocom2 Mk1 with PTSN base off ebay.

However if I were to add extra phones at a later date is a Beocom 2 Mk2 complatible with the mk1 PTSN ???
