There was an option to have a RIAA fitted to the 6500/7000 but the kits I saw slotted in the back rather than had an extra flying lead and replaced the original phono socket.

Re: Extra socket sprouting out the back of my BM7000 !

I have exactly the same on my BM6500 and I've been told that it is some kind of extra Phono input for non beograms, but I'm not realy sure about it.

/Ola

Re: Extra socket sprouting out the back of my BM7000 !

Dealer fit!

Re: Extra socket sprouting out the back of my BM7000 !

Thanks Peter - Would it have been a dealer or a factory fit option ?

I know that sound a bit car-ish, but you know what I mean !

Cheers

Nigel

Re: Extra socket sprouting out the back of my BM7000 !

It is probably a socket for an external sensor. Some people prefer the 7000 system hidden in a cabinet (I know - don't ask me why!) and this allows you to attach an external sensor.

Extra socket sprouting out the back of my BM7000 !

I've just noticed at the back of a BM 7000 I'm going to put on ebay, an extra socket......

It's on the end of about an inch and a half of cable that comes out of a gap just above the main bank of sockets. It looks like a 7 pin input socket. I don't know if it's a Heath Robinson job or it was actually made like that. I can't see any reference to it in the set up guide. The BM is working absolutely fine.

Anyone come across this before, and if so, what's it for ?

If someone could tell me how to put a photo onto a post I'll put one on

Cheers

Nigel
