http://soundsheavenly.co.uk/bando-pltoamp.htm

Probably worth checking if one of the SCARTs provides audio output first. Alternatively there is always the headphone socket....

Re: beovision 3 32 inch

Yes, you are right, via Scart (to record on a vcr) there should be an audio out-signal.

But for Dolby Surround sound you need a digital/coax out.

Maybe a work-around could be to "grab" the stero signal via scart and create some pseudo 5.1 signal via the avr...

Ralf

PS: Edited, because the VCR gets the sound data via tv signal.... as far as I remember now.

Re: beovision 3 32 inch

kallasr:

Reading your post again - if you just want the sound of the tv (using the INTERNAL tuner of the tv) - no chance!

The tv does not have an audio out....

My earlier explanations are onyl valid if you use a set top box and/or dvd etc.

Interesting Ralph, I assumed (wrongly?) that one of the scart sockets would be wired for audio out. Isn't this the case? I've never tried it, only for AV in!

You will have to excuse my ignorance on these matters but does it not have to be connected to the TV, if not I will probably have to purchase a new DVD player but what if you just want to watch a film on the TV and get the stereo sound .

Roan

The BV3 already gives you stereo sound through its internal amplification and speakers (assuming the source is stereo!).

As regards watching a film on the TV, do you want the original soundtrack sent to your Denon receiver from the BV3 and for the receiver then to process the signal for your full surround system? Or do you want the stereo soundtrack sent to just the front 2 of your surround sound system? Can't see the point of that as the BV3 already does this admirably with its own internal speakers.

Without the necessary internal module in a BV3 for surround sound output, then as far as I know the only signal coming out will be normal stereo which of course the Denon can process and give a surround sound image, but I don't think it will be true 5:1 without the required internal processing in the BV3.

Now over to the experts for the correct answer!

szenario #1:

an AVR is used as a central hub for audio and video signals.

You can attach all your dvd, bluray, games console etc. to it (the AVR).

The AVR needs a monitor (TV) to show the pictures and speakers to reproduce the sound.

szenario #2:

the AVR is just used to provide the surround sound.

You attach all your gear to the tv (picture) AND to the AVR (sound, coax or digital audio out).

Problem might be a not sychronised picture/sound.

Ralf

Just a quick question you may be able to help me with. I have recently acquired a DENON AVR2700 Integrated theatre surround sound receiver, and a set of 5 surround speakers to connect to it , I can connect all the speakers to the unit without any problems but how do I go about connecting the AVR2700 to the T V ,do I need some special cables because the last thing I want to do is to get rid of the T V because its an absolutely super piece of kit it must be one of the best CRT TVs ever produced

I would appreciate it if any of you could help me out

Cheers for now
