I would not be surprised if the BV 8 is the model that is "replaced"... The 7-40 may go, but the 7-55 will be around for some time - especially with the coming screen (3D): making it to B&O spec made it so expensive that Samsung will not offer it in their line-up (according to a source in Struer).

It is always difficult to base a purchase on "speculation", but I guess it is obvious that the 7-40 will be dumped in the not to distant future. The 10-55 will sell for less, and the new BeoVision will offer the same picture quality for even less. If you like the 7-series and/or find the 10-series a bit dull, then you will like the new model - but not much new "thinking" when it comes to materials, they stick to the metal they know the best.

after your update, I think I will postpone my Beovision purchase and keep the 8-40 for some months. Thank you.

Otherwise I`m sure, I will kick myself in the ass if I have spent lots of
money for a 7-40 and a view month later B&O releases the new BV11.

Any information regarding the frame material/design???

Re: Beovision 7-46??

Price of 10-46 in Uk is simple crazy!
but for a Loewe Individual incl. sound projector you are roughly in same price area as B&O.

Are you sure? The 46" I was looking at, with the stand and centre speaker was about £6K. I'll check again, but I'm sure it was far less than the BV10-46 (which is about £8900).

Good news on the BV11. I'm in no rush to buy a new TV, so let's all wait.

Re: Beovision 7-46??

The digital platform will be introduced at the dealer convention in September. It will be the same platform across the range, but with added functionality (at a cost) based on the model selected.

The BV11 is said to be 2x the cost of the top-of-the-line from Philips or Sony, taking it right back to where the Avant was with respect to the competition. The entry level model will be less than 20k DKK - so the new price policy should be more in line with the old MX and Avant range compared to rest of the market.

I belive the BV10-55 will be based on the current platform. Not sure what will happen with the BV7 range...
