It is a good product, it meets a demand heard many years from the IPOD users, and compared to other B&O systems is reasonably priced.

It also allows the younger crowd to enter the B&O " club membership " ranks. Hopefully many will be staying with us in the future.

Do I own one ? No. Being a collector and enthusiast since 1965 I cannot open a closet without finding it full of B&O products in front of me. If my wife is nearby this action triggers the well-known statement regarding cleaning, auctions, and give-aways.

Having a Beosound 1, Beosound 3, Beosound 6, a few Beolits, Grundigs, Zenith Transoceanics, Lowe, etc. plus the various M-L systems, I can justify the forthcoming ENCORE. But I do like the Beosound 8.

I'm also tempted by a BeoSound 8.

The only thing that's putting me off is the potential addition of AirPlay in the near future. Don't underestimate this feature. It would enable you to use your iPhone or iPad as a "remote" rather than having to connect the device to the BS8 each time you want to hear music, radio etc.

Ideal for me. It means I can have the iPad next to my office desk and choose the music I want to hear without having to get up to swap tracks. With the way the BS8 is configure now, you can only forward to either the next track in an album or playlist.

Would be much more flexible if AirPlay was included in the BS8!

I get a lot of use out of mine despite having BeoLink at home. There's a lot to be said for the convenience of dropping an iPod into a dock and not interacting with a larger system. I listen to lots of books on MP3 while I drive and often I'll be at a juicy part and have to dock the iPod inside while I change and get dinner ready. I'd say it gets much more play time from me than the real house system. Definately go for it!

I'm a BeoSound 8 owner, and I rate them highly. They knock the spots off the Zeppelin, which I also own.

Blah Blah, 2-3 times the price of the Zeppelin, Blah Blah.. I know. But, you get what you pay for.

So the BeoSound 8 has been around for what, 8 months now. I'm thinking of purchasing a white one. BeoSound 8 owners how do you rate it?
