I too got the email - that is for the BeoSound 2 MP3 player ... and this is what the text of the letter said as an explanation (with my emphasis):

To my knowledge there were no fake BS2s. You would see them en mass on ebay.

The A8 earset was faked in different varitations and you can still find them for cheap on ebay.

Hi guys,

Here's my problem...I have found in a second hand shop a brand new beosound 2 for a small price.

But...

Is it possible that's a fake one? On the powersupply I saw "Bang & Olufsen Japan"...

They sell a brown box, with the beosound2 + Usb + power supply + earset + cover...

Did you have some pics of other info that I can check ???
