As most people keep their B&O kit long-term, why not make it easier to live with by customising it a bit? Only snag could be when you move and the old colour doesn't fit the new place.

As for the durability, what are people doing with their B&O equipment? It's much easier to scratch alumnimum, which is almost impossible to buff out, than it would be to scratch paint to the point it's visibly damaged. Also, as Iain says, it can be touched up.

Re: What colour to go for?

Hi Reticule,

It was me who
you spoke with and I am glad you like it!

To answer a few
questions which have come up:

The first
concern I had was the quality of the finish so this project is being done in conjunction
with a high end body shop to guarantee brilliant results. The paint is designed
for cars so needs to be very durable as it will be subject to high speeds (top speed
of a DBS is 191 MPH) and flying debris and oil etc.

I had the top
piece a BeoLab 6000 painted to test the durability and I tried to chip the
paint with a flat screw driver. I'll be honest it did chip however the amount
of force would have gouged a standard BeoLab 6000 top plate just as badly so I
am really happy with the quality of finish plus it could be touched up if it
was damaged.

The idea is to
offer a bespoke service so customers can choose the colour whether it is to blends
in or to make a statement, Ferrari red anyone!

The Aston
Martin pearlescent white has tiny flecks of silver like material which reflect
the light and up close looks awesome! Yes it is different to the normal aluminium
but I love it. I'll bring my camera in and add some more photos so you can see
what I mean.

Sorry
Reticule's for hijacking the thread. I got to choose what colour we went with
so my advice is Aston Martin pearlescent white!

We're currently
looking in to this project and would really like to hear what everyone thinks
so feel free to voice your views. We can also do this to existing products so
if you fancy a change then please get in to touch with me either at the store (01332
362292) or email: iw.derby@bang-olufsen.co.uk
.

Thanks

Iain
