As far as 3D, you will have to have an updated BS3 with HDMI out to take advantage of 3D, period at this point. I don't beleive DVI will carry 3D so that would be the reason why it is only HDMI(v1.4) now.

pure speculation though :)

I hope it will be possible to update my old BeoSystem 3 (MKI - I think) to handle a 3D signal, would be sorry to have to buy a new BS3.

BTW I'm curious if anyone could explain the vast difference in the power consumption figures quoted for BV4-85 on the B&O vs that for the VX200 on the Panasonic website. Is the BV4-85 far more power efficient or is it just a matter of difference in the way power consumption is measured by the companies (apologies for my ignorance)

interesting that according to this post all beo4 power supply modules are replaced for the 'superior' B&O one.

I wonder why it is then that with the back removed from my 14 month old beovision 4 it is IDENTICAL in every way to the panasonic panle on which it is based!!

Do you have pics of both because I'm curious to see this?

Hmm, somewhat cool, yes with a 85" or even 103" TV, but for me the BV9 is B&O perfection.

I have a large living room and I fnd even the 50" to be overpowering in some respects.

i suppose if on has adesignated video room - but in that case projection is the way to go!

I completely agree. Once a screen gets so big, the only tasteful way to go bigger is to have a projector with a retractable screen. I really wish B&O would explore adding a projector and screen to it's offerings.

14.5k pounds isn't so bad.... you should come to Austalia. The BL5 are selling at 18.2k pounds excluding GST (i.e VAT)

went by Harrods again to pick up a 3d blue ray sony (good value with discount and multi region) in preparation for 7-40 3d

screen only non DVD £5300, with 3d blue ray £7700!

B&O would need to set themselves apart from the crowd as usual, that could be the thought process behind the glasses one would think.

At Harrods I compared the Panasonic 103 and went to the knightsbridge store to watch the 85 soon after, somehow the 85 is much more vivid and more'alive'.. The 'extras' that B&O has put on is certainly worth the money for a particular set of buyers.

I wonder why there is no 3d for the 50 and 65. The picture quality should be as stunning.... and should bring the price down.
