Hi did you just pick this up o ebay from a place in Bournemouth?

No, not from ebay in Bournemouth.

Stoobie

Just to let you all know, I'm in very positive dialogue with the guy that sold me the Wireless and between us we have discovered it is definitely the software that has caused the issue as mine are on the original software and his was updated recently to the latest software. He was able to duplicate my problem with one on old software and one updated - no connection. The updating the old one and connection right away.

Thanks for the suggestions

I did, and they are not working. Dawsons - the seller is getting a tech to give me a call to troubleshoot. Hopefully he can fix them.

Re: Beolink Wireless 1 faults

Stoobie,

The software upgrade allows the timer function to work (this is why I had mine upgraded - at no cost as they were still under warrenty).

I believe it also is needed if you want to connect a BL Active, Passive, BL3500 (or other ML device) to the ML port on the receive side (I tested connecting an Active to the ML port on the receiver just the other day, and it work fine - again with the newer software).

I doubt if it costs very much (granted, with B&O that is a relative term ). I was told by my dealer that it is simply a wireless download - they don't even have to take the units apart - but you would need to send them to a service center with the special tool and software to do this.

I'm actually looking for a 2nd hand wireless, but there are none to be found here in the USA. Not much B&O on eBay lately, and much of what is there is not selling even though the prices are quite good.

It is to be the second reciever in my setup.

I tried connecting it as the second reciever but it would not connect. I disconnected my original reciever and tried to connect the new one again on its own- no luck. Did a factory reset on my transmitter and the new reciever and tried to connect - no luck. Tried changing my reciver to a transmitter - no luck. Changed the new one to transmit and tried to connect either of my old ones as recievers - nothing. Set my old ones to transmit & recieve and they connected almost immedeately. So they both work!

The box of my new Wireless has "updated to 2.10e" hand written by the lable and I'm assuming the that means the software has been updated so have written to the seller to confirm that the one in the box he sent me has that software version.

Looking at this thread it would seem I may struggle to get them all working together as mine have the original software from when I bought them about 4 to 5 years ago.

1. Does anyone know the cost of updating the sowtware here in the UK.

2. What benefits does the newer software bring?

3. Can the software be downgraded?

If the software update brings no significant change, I may just downgrade the one, but if it is beneficial I may have to upgrade my two. Cost will have a bearing!

Thank you

I found that they are very sensitive to ALL of them being at the same S/W release level

I have heard this as well. This is also a challenge because, without a special programming tool, there is no way to know what version of software is installed. Mine have no sticker, and the upgrade is not a new chip, but rather a new software download.

I recently picked up a few Wireless 1s off ebay. Two out of the 2 I had were faulty. Got my money back, very good seller but I still have 3 others in use at home and just wondered if there was any known reliability issues with them. I don't mean the link quality but actual faults that in my case did not allow the units to be synced up. I did try all sorts before sending them back, like turning off my home broadband and all the other Beolink Wireless units I already had (except the TX that I wanted to link to of course). I suppose these are designed to be set up and then left forever so do we know what the usual MTBF is on these.
