Fantastic!

After idly setting then unsetting the V.Opt options for the Beosystem 3 a few times, it has now sprung into life! I'll be VERY keen not to change much for quite a while!

Thanks all for your suggestions - I guess I'll have to put this down to B&O foibles.....

Yes - looks like it. Hope they can give me a loaner while it is away....

BTW, it is the BCenter2 that isn't reacting to V.Opt - It reacts fine to the A.Opt command. I have no idea what the Beosystem 3 is up to as I have the IR connected only via the 3.5mm jack (a hangover for when I had a Beosystem 2), so I don't get a flashing light on the sensor. There doesn't seem to be any option programming for Audio for the Beosystem 3 anyway.

Everything is correct here - but then I never had a problem with the DVD!

V.Opt 2 is set for the Beosystem 3 (as it is the device connected to the IR Eye and all commands should go through the Beosystem 3). The Beocenter 2 doesn't seem to recognise any V.Opt settings anyway - the LED doesn't blink when I try to set the option, but V.Opt 0 should be the right option for the Beocenter - and it is working due to being able to control the DVD.

I think you have an V.OPT issue: BeoCenter 2 will only use a.opt and you say in the first post that you also made v.opt to zero. It should be V.OPT 2.

I really don't understand the question - which Menu? on the BC2?.

BTW, there is nothing wrong with the DVD - it is the radio and CD (Audio devices, not video) that isn't working

but it's the reason you should check your manual of the BC2; especially the part about the DVD

The CD Plays - the screen still shows the DVD screen.

Very odd if it is all OPT programmed correctly. Possibly a bad ML board in the BS3 (all though why would it pass the commands in link rooms?) if your running the newest software etc. and are 100% on your configuration settings then it would be wise to setup a service call..... of course do the B&O all time reset before you go that route (unplug everything for 5 minutes).

Yes, had (multiple) resets and everything. I guess a service call is in order here....
