Therefore speakers with only a Powerlink input won't have the signal sense circuitry at all.

You will need to construct a "fake Powerlink source" to use these speakers with non-B&O sources. I believe signalling pin 4 with a +5V source is enough, but don't take my word for it... there might be a description somewhere in the humongous "Peter Pans hjemmebio" thread if you have the perseverance to wade through it.

Re: Beolab 2500's as TV or PC Speakers..

I've got a pair of Beolab 2500's that are surplus to my needs. I thought I might be able to make use of them by hooking them up to an LCD TV (non-B&O), or my PC's headphone jack using an adapter cable -- miniplug --> 2 DIN male connectors. I've been told this won't work because the BL 2500 doesn't have a line input. Why can't I use the DIN input? Won't the small wattage from my PC or LCD TV's headphone jack command the speakers to turn on and off? If I had the adapter cable I'd try it out but I don't.

Thanks in advance for any input.
