About impedance: connecting 2 x 6 ohms in parallel makes the setup to be only 3 ohms. 3 ohms is a low impedance in a MCL setup - the system would probably be able to handle this because of the self-protection.

My experience with BC9000 is from a setup of Jamo 7.7 in main room and a pair of BV5000's and 2 pairs of RL60.2's in separate link rooms. The BC could not really handle the Jamos that well (Jamo 7.7 are only 4 ohms). Lesson identified was that never buy passive speakers without testing them with at least your amp. Otherwise the setup worked perfectly and satisfied my needs of desibels.

My Dad runs two pairs of CX100 + one Cona and a pair of redlines 60 from his Beomaster 4500, without any problems at all. Can play loud. The amp. should be about the same in your BC, so do not worry about an extra amp, unless you want to play very loud.

You should connect the CX in parallel to the MCL-2A.

Regarding the MCL cable: It is colorcoded and very easy to install, except for the soldering - which depends on your skills .

Cabling: Yes and No, you need to run the MCL cable (round or flat) with special plugs (still available, need soldering) to the MCL2A. The plugs are connected to the speakers 2 connection of the BC. Pay attention to left and right. In the MCL2 box the connection of the leads are secured by screws - avoid shortcuts.

You run the speakers directly from the MCL. Most of the B&O passives I know are 8 ohms. CX100's are indeed 6 ohms each which lowers the capacity of the linked system a little. I have not tested two pairs of CX100's in one room, probably that will work because of the safety features of the BC. To raise the impedance they should be connected in series, not parallel. I have never tested this.

also...does anyone know..if i go with an older say MCL 2 A/V or MCL 2 A....can I buy a new "hockey puck" eye and connect that to the MCL 2 series...instead of using the rectangular (older) one??

Thanks...so i'd run the Datalink and the Speakerlink to the MCL 2A???? then run passive speakers off that...like CX100's??? 6 ohms each??? could i run 2 pairs of these??

The whole setup including the passive speakers are run by the amp of the BC. That is why it is important to have speakers with a high enough impedance in your setup (like B&O spkrs ).

If you think your run out of power then you need to turn to active speakers or MCL2AV and MLC2P. Remember to check that the power limitation wheel in he MCL2A is adjusted according to your speakers. The system protects itself very efficiently so you should not face any problems.

Thanks...i'm looking at a MCL 2A now...but it doesn't look like it's an amp.???? would i have to get a passive amp separate??

MCL 2-series. Passive speakers with a MCL2A (or MCL2 series Xtra Speaker Kit)and active speakers with MCL2AV (MCL 2series Xtra Active Speaker Kit). To the latter you can connect speakers with powerlink connection which BC9000 does not support directly. MCL 2 series Xtra TV-Kit does not include IR-transceiver.

hi all, i'm interested in getting a beocenter 9000 and linking a room or two with it....would that use the Xtra speaker kit...the MCL 2A kits??? which kits would i be looking for??
