Following your trial & error I found one of the speaker cables squeezed under the sofa which caused the problem. Somehow it works again after massaging the cable a little :-)

with 3000 in stdby try option 0 as it is standalone

"A.Opt" "0" will disable the reception of IR from your remote !

"A.Opt" "1" will be the right setting for a standalone audio system.

A broken/shorted PL cable can also block the "starting" of the speaker.
Since both cables are connected internally in the BS3000 a malfunction
of either the left or right channel can affect both channels.

Disconnect one cable and check if the other speaker powers up - then try
the same procedure for the other cable/speaker.

It is highly unlikely that both BeoLab speakers have faulted at the same time with the same fault. The first thing to check is the powerlink cable (the thin cable that connects the audio to the speakers).

Have you had a carpet laid?

Is it possible that the cable has been damaged?

Do you have any pets that could have chewed the cable?

Alternatively it could be the audio unit itself. Without other equipment it is difficult to fault find. If you have access to another pair of active speakers, you could see if they work with your cables.

Hi - I use the Beo4 remote and the BS is only connected to the speakers and nothing else.

The remote and BS is working fine and the only problem is that the BS does not seem to "tell the speakers to go active".

Does the BeoSound 3000 respond to the remote control, and is it connecting to anything else except the speakers?

Hi,

My loyal friends since almost 10 years BS3000 and BL8000 are not doing too well anymore L

For some reason they don’t power up correctly. The problem seem to be that even though there is power to the speakers (red light in the front) they don’t switch on (to green light) when I turn on the BS. If I switch between “line” and “L” or “R” on the speakers I can hear the radio for a few seconds but then they go back to switched off mode (red light) again.

Both speakers behave the same way and I haven’t rearranged anything lately. Any ideas?
