&lt;p&gt;had a similar problem with some classical cd&amp;#39;s some years ago, copying em on the pc solved the problem&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;possibly temperature differences in the room change the tolerances of the pickup on the cd - just a thought&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;i have an ouverturewhich on occaision will not play from cold start but if the radio has played for a short while the cd(s) will then play a member suggested gentle cleaning of the gear , thought it was hard/dried out grease - this 95% solved the problem but it still happens off and on - think it may be a slight cd production problem, have you tried copying the disc if so what happens with the copy?&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;ive had the unit and cd&amp;#39;s since 2004/05 about the same&amp;nbsp;time i purchased the beolab&amp;nbsp; 8000&amp;#39;s&amp;nbsp;from you. which are stillgoing strong. thanks for that. could it just be conflicting data on discs?? but i must add if i press randomly a track number button on the unit i can sometimes get them to work.&lt;/p&gt;
