I think you got the right answers in a very short time, but sometimes there just is not a ready to go answer. It seems like the problem is in your Ouverture, but it could be the keyboard, the processor, the power-supply or maybe something else. It could be that the Ouverture was struck by lightning, who knows?

You could try to disconnect the keyboard from the display PCB and see if it will work on remote. Make sure the Ouverture is in option 1, not option 0, or else the remote won't work.

certainly worth a punt a £200! Even if you have to spend a bit on it!

Hi Peter, it was sold as seen, he did tell me that it was working fine upto going into storage but when he brought it out, it wouldn't play anything. I was hoping it was a simple fix but as I only paid £200 (including the Beolabs) its a worthwhile punt!! I've turned it off now to see if that will help... Anyone got any other ideas?? Do the control panels go faulty?

No matter in what option the BeoSound Ouverture is programmed, it should always work using the keyboard on the Ouverture itself. Sometimes a key on the keyboard gets stuck between the surrounding metal on the keyboard, keeping the key pressed. But in that case the doors also will not close, because when a key is pushed the Ouverture won't close the doors to protect the fingers of the user. It could also be a problem in the Ouverture.

pressed all the buttons to check for sticking all seem OK, should i take the front panel off and check the connections?

According to the chap I bought it from, the Ouverture as been in storage for the last 2 years and not used. Could this be the problem? ie damp?

Wouldn't hurt to unplug it and leave it unplugged for several hours.

now found my book, it goes

hold standby button whilst pressing list - ie at same time - , scvroll to options press go

press list until a opt then key 1

try pressing go

should then be fine

sorry about the mistakes etc my keyboard is on it way out and i cannot get a qwerty kybd in france they us ethe quaint old azerty`layout

Haaaaaa!!!!!!!!!

Don't know how to do it with a beo4 but yes its remote base

try pressing list until optin appears press go scroll thro to audio press go press0 1 or 2then go - i think thats it otherwise do a search on the site for option setting

I always use my bl 1000 as its dead simple!

do i do this using the beo4 or on the Ouverture because i dont have any buttons saying standby or sound?

probably an option problem, you will have toreset it bl1000

press standbyand sound together

then press 1

then press storeshould work then I had a similar problem

if it doesn't the try above with either 0 or 2 one of which will work

sorry cannot remember the correct option mode but it is one of the above
