I agree with you guys! The 8000 is very heavy and very awkward!

The sheer density of the 6000 is what knocks me out.

Beomaster 8000 is IMO a little more backbreaking than the 6000 quad, 21 kg and a worse weight distribution

Having recently handled both, I can vouch for this. The 8000 is very heavy with weight distributed to the sharpest corners, just where you would want to try and pick it up :P

He once had three 6000's to hang on three seperate brackets side by side, it was only to show off as he has his whole house is stuffed with B&O

Theoretically, he could wallhang his whole collection of Beomaster 6000 quads, but there wouldn't be wallspace for them (he has 12, fully serviced and repaired!)

Has anyone actually tried this?

I never got around to trying, but I would be happy to hang anything on a wall but my house is 1932 shuttered concrete !

I asked the question at the time as I would be more concerned about the effect of gravity on the components inside. I think B&O used plexiglass to lighten the mass of the 6000.

Wow three side by side? I assume they are just a visual thing or are any of them connected?

LOL you should see what our company use to attach change machines weighing 18kg to! A good sub frame and loads of screws mean't they were pretty secure though. However it is worth puting a lot of thought into any wall hanging excersise!

Why bother when the Beocord/Beogram/Beomaster look so fine next to each other?

You'd also need STRONG walls!

Has anyone actually tried this? I was considering however I would be worried about the tuning wheel and general alignment of the panels etc. which might shift over time! - on a side note I think the reason they used plexiglass was to allow things to flex under the sheer weight!

I am willing to bet B&O would have jumped at the chance of a wall mounted option but decided it was too risky or didn't otherwise work?

Any other opinions?

If the BM 6000 has a steel buttom and screw on feets it schould be no problem, make a steel frame and fit it where the feets were, and with proper size screws or hooks to the wall, I would make the frame, so when hanged, with a 15-20 degrees inclination.

Its possible I suppose. I would never though......considering the weight and that they were never designed to be wall mounted I'd say its safer not too. I could never wall mount mine....wouldn't be able to sleep thinking that it could fall off. Same with my BS3500.....I get too paranoid lol!!

Finally got one and are they big. As they take up a lot of desk/table space, has anyone ever considered wall mounting ?
