I have DVB C from Comhem in Sweden and they use CI on all HD channels.

To Akora. The CI+ is not linked directly to the to physical slots. CI+ is a standard used under DVB-T2 for copy protection of the signal. So are you sure that the terrestical broadcaster is using CI+ for the channels you are mentioning? If Finland has started to use CI+ encryption it is the a new thing.

Bang and Olufsen has acknowledged the problem and via the dealer said that a new software version is required and will be released later. Of course with expected release date.

Samsung had exactly the same problem in Sweden and released an update on the 10th August.

To Style: For exactly which channel do you know that the CI+ copy protection is used?

B&O solution is one of the few that has CI and normal conax slot for pay-tv.

I have tested encrypted CI DVB-T2 signals from TV Viihde (the world championships of track and field) Yle HD channel and it works great and has fantastic picture quality.

Problem: Channels that er transmitted in DVB-T2 where CI+ is used to copy protect the signal does not work with the software version 0.1.7.2. B&O will probably solve this in a new software version, but no date is available. This is a problem with some of the HD channels here in Sweden.

The signal can not be decoded.

Today Bang & Olufsen has sent a mail to me to tell that DVB-T2 now is supported with the new DVB-HD Mk III module.

Ditto for Finland. New multiplexes will use DVB-T2 and MPEG4 for both SD and HD channels on them. Currently the only TVs with integrated DVB-T2 receivers are from Sony. Plenty of people who think they just bought a state of the art TV will be disappointed when the terrestrial HD broadcasts begin, and they'll be getting an STB again if they want to receive them...

In a nutshell, DVB-T2 differs from DVB-T by using improved modulation techniques. For the same frequency constraints (channel usage), this can be used for either much improved bandwith or more robust transmission. Delivering HD channels over plain DVB-T is quite wasteful. The robustness comes in handy in sparsely populated countries like Finland, where getting proper area coverage quickly gets expensive.

Sweden does also use DVB-T2 for HD channels. B&O confirms that they are working on a solution, but they cannot give a release date.

No, the current DVB-HD T/C/S2 from B & O, do not supports T2.
But B & O are working on a new module with support for T2. !
