&lt;p&gt;I was told never to buy phones from overseas as they won&amp;#39;t work here, but I have a couple of UK Beocom 6000s that do work!&lt;/p&gt;

I can&amp;#39;t get it to recognise my (Mk 1, flat, rectangular) BeoLine Australian base however. I&amp;#39;ve been pressing the recessed button on the back of the BeoLine to &amp;#39;open&amp;#39; it but to no avail.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Am I doing something wrong or is the US phone simply incompatible with the Australian system? I&amp;#39;ve bought other (corded) US phones and they work fine here.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;I think this is a later version of the Beocom 2 than my existing phones, but from what I&amp;#39;ve read it should still work as long as the BeoLine has the latest version of the software, which it does.&lt;/p&gt;
