I don't know what that does but it works! I did think the BL6000s sounded a bit 'thin', but now they sound much better.

I did have Speaker 2 selected as audio default, but it never switched to that if I selected, for example, CD.

Re: BV8-40 Default Speakers

You have to choose speaker 2 for audio and speaker 3 for video at the DSS on your BV8-40 (press menu, menu on your Beo4). There you are also able to adjust the center of your 8-40.

Try the following setup, you will be very surprised of the sound. Because the BV8-40 DSS module "cuts" away the deeper frequencies, your BL6000 are not
able to work proper.

front: Pentas
rear: BL4000 (regardless if you do not have any rear speaker)

distance front 10 meters
distance center 10 meters
distance rear 0,5 meter

front approx. 75%

(very important, otherwise it won`t work)
speaker 4 for audio
speaker 5 for video

Re: BV8-40 Default Speakers

IIRC it should be in the audio settings menu somewhere...

(I realise the above is not very helpful!)

BV8-40 Default Speakers

I have a BV8-40 (with system module) with a pair of Beolab 6000 connected to it. Also connected to it in the same room is an Ouverture, via Masterlink. If I play a CD on the Ouverture I would like the BV8 to come on in Speaker 2 mode, just using the 6000's, and this is what the default speakers are set to. However, it will alway start playing in Speaker 1 mode, just using its own speaker. It will let me select Speaker 2 with the remote but will not default to it - any suggestions as to how I can accomplish this?
