There is a known prouction issue with those top plates, and as such it will (probably) be repaired FOC if you can get the dealer to ask DK to supply the parts FOC.

The serial number will show if your unit was in the batch with (what amounts to) a built in fault - as such it is like a product recall - it should be FOC.

Bsnd 9000's of a certain age will still get a new, FOC, glass plate and hinge asembly fitted if required, even though they are maybe 8 years out if warranty.

I would insist the dealer pushes for this on your behalf.

I bought a beosound 3 several years ago in the US but didn't keep the receipt. I now live in Korea and the beosound 3 face plate needs to be replaced due to a malfunction. the dealer here says that it's because of a small scratch on the plate which is not true since that scratch has been there almost from day one and there's been no problems.

In any event, the dealer here wants USD 360 to replace the face plate (top plate on the unit). Is this reasonable? Can someone tell me how much the same would cost in their country? I travel quite a lot on business and could wait if it's significantly cheaper. having said that my dealer told me i may be able to get it replaced under warranty if i take it back to the US...

just sick of getting ripped off on the after service. (i.e. just paid USD 1050 to replace the cd reader in my beosound 9000).
