... cheaper cable per m does not necessarily mean lower total costs

Generally speaking:

- It's easier to make a "nice looking" installation using ML - especially if you crimp the ML plugs directly
to the ML-cables without J-boxes (but you will need assistance of your B&O dealer/installer).

- If properly installed, a Cat 7 installation will offer considerable advantages in the (near) future.

I think i will pop to the shop and buy some cat7 and put that in place for a 1/4 of the price of ML

Re: Masterlink Junction boxes

Hi there
Thanks for that so just to clarify on your reply the pin3 and pin 12 are conected together.
I think i might invest in a ML dist box but i will still need to use junction boxes to make up the ends after the cable has run through the joists and through walls.
So just to clarify the blue/white is also connected to the pink?

Re: Masterlink Junction boxes

Yes, that's the explanation ...

Pin 3 Blue/White and Pin 12 Pink always have to be connected, which happens automatically if you are
using a Junction Box or a ML Distributon Box.

I personally prefer the use of ML Distributon Boxes instead of J-Boxes or soldering
- especially in larger ML setups.

6 ML Cables with Plugs can be connected and easily disconnected - making fault finding a lot easier.

Masterlink Junction boxes

Hello All
Do you good folk use masterlink junction boxes.
I was recomended to use 3amp terminal block

What do you all do?

Solder them?
Masterlink Junction Boxes?
Terminal Block?

Also what is this i hear that if you have broken into a ML cable that you should connect the White and Blue (ML-Sence) and the Pink (= supply voltage) together??

Would this explain how 9 ML cables can be connected using cat6/7 with only 4 twised pairs?

Please help me!!!
Thanks
