well,

it has been 2+ months since my last post.

the 6000 is alive and well, but still claims the battery is flat???

will it ever die?

the set is excellent -not worn out.

i cleaned the contacts as well.

all seemd fine until the drop... btw, the rest of the phone works fine -just won't come out of "battery flat"

If not, it could be the charger connection in the base.. Does it look worn out?

Try shutting off the handset and the placing it in the charger/base.. Does the handset turn on?

whatever happened here?

i have a phone that ended up in a similar state after a drop.

1.) dropped the phone
2.) everything seemed ok, so i put it back on the base.
3.) a few days later -started "bleeping" and showed "battery flat"
4.) ran the 9#9#9*655 code
5.) set it back on base and noticed the base light stayed red
6.) replaced the battery (ran # 4 above, again)
7.) back on the base -light turned green! yeah!
8.) however, now -battery still states "flat" after several days of charging
9.) light is still green, and i have tried #4 again several times.

seems like i may have damaged a charging circuit, but wonder why light went from red to green, unless the replacement battery simply had more juice? perhaps i should do a "full reset" of the phone?

hmmm... thx for any thoughts!

I left a MK 6000 switched on but not on charge about ten days ago.
After two days it started bleeping at me that the battery needed charging and it showed three bars.
The next day it was still bleeping and showed no bars.
Ten days later it's still bleeping!
It is connected to the rest of my system and still has a nice healthy ringtone but I haven't been making calls on it.
I wonder when it will finally give up.
