Still no sound?

I have seen this before on a MCL2P amp. The 9000 cannot "see" your amplifier and therefore will not swich the speaker feed on.There is a relay in the ML/MCL amp which is faulty and not telling the 9000 that you have speakers connected. In "normal" use this is not a problem but in your case it causes the symptoms you describe.

Either fit a set of powerlink speakers to the 9000 or.......

Speak to steve@soundsheavenly.co.uk , who will supply a dummy powerlink plug for other powerlink socket on the 9000, wired to tell the 9000 that speakers are connected.

It sorted one of my 9000 customers!!

The only cable you'll need between the BS9000 and the amp, is what is commonly referred to as a "fully wired" Powerlink cable. This is needed, as the BS9000 sends a signal through the Powerlink cable to turn the amp on, when the BS9000 is switched on. Other than that, you'll just need speaker cables to go from your amp to whichever speakers you are using. The Masterlink cable is not needed. You can do another type of connection with the Masterlink cable, but it is simpler to use the Powerlink cable, unless your placing the amp and speakers in a different room, than the BS9000. Thanks All,

I do have the MCL converter, thanks for reminding me of what kind of amp. Right now I have the amp hooked up by the powerlink cable and then out of that to the speakers. Still no sound... Is there a fuse in the MCL converter that I need to look into?

I picked this unit up on a trade and from the begining the CD player did not work correctly. It stalls out between cds and gets stuck. Is this somthing I can fix or should I take it in for repair?

oops, my mistake.. Powerlink cable is sufficient plugged from the AUX. of the 9000 to the Passive Amp..

The fully wired powerlink cable should be plugged into the powerlink socket on the 9000 and the powerlink socket on the amplifier!

Thanks all, I am using the B&O amp that has the cables that mate up to the 9000. I have one cable that is the powerlink and then connecting to the speakers with that special end. I am not sure if there is more than one cable from the 9000 to the amp? There is a master link cable output in the 9000 and in the amp, does that need to be hooked up to get the sound out of the 9000 to the amp?

Modern B&O systems use active speakers. Powerlink cables are basically speaker cables. You can buy a small box that allows you to connect passive speakers to a modern beosound but the name of it escapes me.

Headphones phono cable to RCA into the back of you amp may work too.

Hi All,

Just found this site and I need help hooking up a 9000 with the seperate amp. I have the power link hooked up and the amp comes on. Do I need the masterlink cable to get sound out of this, or am I missing other cables. Were do I find the info I need to get this system up and runing?
