When you press Drive select your Beo5 should send CNTL_4, but it sends CNTL_1 for Guide. So change the command, or just change the button text from Drive select to Guide. You can save your "new" Pana device in the config. tool.

Thanks for your response.

The hard buttons on the Beo5 are all more or less in line with the Beo4 and the Panasonic.

It's the soft buttons that are all over the place. Functions are as follows:-

Beo5 Panasonic function

Display Direct Access

Drive Select Guide

Rec Mode Display

Power Power

Timeslip Timeslip

Info Drive select

Guide Display

Text ???

I could use the Menu/No. method but it defeats the purpose of the touch screen on the Beo5. The buttons might do something in other modes ie DVD/HDD etc but I tested the functions on the mode intended which is mainly the HDD.

Hope this all makes sense.

Given that everything apparently works correctly with the Beo4 means that either the loaded Beo5 "PUC Profile" is the wrong one and does not match the PUC entry or there is an error in the Beo5 Profile XML file.

I have had a look at the Beo5 Profile for this unit and it appears to be fine.

Can I suggest that you give a couple of examples of commands not working both from the screen and the hard keys.

Below is a picture of the Beo4 mapping for this unit.

Beo5 controlling Panasonic HDD via BV10 puc

Hi,

I have a BV10 and attached to it is a Panasonic Blu-Ray 500GB HDD. The model is DMR-BW880GLK. The model loaded on the tv puc control is Panasonic DMRBS850. The dealer advised this is similar and should work.

When using a Beo4 everything works perfectly and I'm able to control most things. The Beo5 has been loaded with the control profile of the DMR BS850 (so I'm told). The operation via the Beo5 is a dogs breakfast with most of the screen buttons not working or doing totally unrelated functions.

Is there a way to reconfigure the buttons so the Beo5 actually does the correct function. The Beo4 works well so I assume the Beo5 should do the same.

I must say the Beo5 is the most frustrating B&O product I have bought. It all seems so hard to get it to work properly. It should have been a great product and I think B&O were not totally sure what they wanted it to do and how they want to implement it.

Thanks for any suggestions.
