I chose the beocom 4 over the beocom 6000 because it had a MUCH nicer feel to the handset, and i have no need to link it, seems i only have a 1401 next to the bed.

The beocom 4 is a much newer design than the beocom 6000 also and i really enjoy it's simplicity and it's abilty to change it's color if you feel it should stand out... or completely blend in.

I have one beocom 6000 and am very happy with it!

Definitely worth it but if you don't want to spend too much you can have a look on ebay. There are always plenty of them for sale.

It's a very easy phone to use and the sound quality is very good. Not to mention the design...

I also use it to control the volume of my Ouverture and MX7000 tv. A real joy

Both phones are the same and i rang my dealer and he says that their demo is the same too??? Any of you got this same issue?

Hi Joff. As far as I am aware, there is no paint involved. It is just grey plastic. The marks you describe must, therefore, be to do with the moulding.I'm sure one of the WOS (Wise old sages) will correct me if I'm wrong.

I do not have the problem you describe on any of my BeoCom 6000 phones.

Well it looks as though i will pop into my dealers this weekend with some cash and see if i can get a 'deal or no deal' on a nice new black pair!

Btw, this may be old news but the phone on Deal or no Deal is a Beocom 6000. Just noticed that last night.

Get the 6000! Bought it Day 1 it was released (around 1997-98) an it still works perfect.

the beocom 4 is very similar to use to the 6000. It has pretty much the same spec's - 200 name phone book, scroll wheel etc.... The keys are slightly smaller but if you only want a stand alone phone then definately recommended. I personally prefer the neat looks & the way it sits on the base but prefer the versatility of the 6000.

The Beocom 4 is the best phone to use IMHO. It was my first phone and I loved it for its ease of use and great looks. However I sold it for a Beocom2 which looks nice and joins my phone network, but thats about it.

Beocom 4 is a stand alone phone. The 6000's can share the same base/phonebook with up to 6 other handsets including Beocom 2's.

I choose to use my 6000 over my 2 everytime. Its much easier to use.

I have two! by far the best in terms of reliability!

Only ever had one issue which is that the number one handset name does not appear when dialing internally... dont know why.. but other than that excellent choice!

Do not hesitate one more second!!! Of course, those phones are expensive, but less than a beocom 2, and more easy to use. Either the wall or the table chargers are beautifull, and the sound incredible. The fact that several handsets synchronise automatically is a plus, too. I have a light blue one, and a grey too. What should be your longer refelxion is the colour choice!!!!
