Take a closer look at the 8-40. Same panel as 10-40 but the speakers are much better. And the 10-40 could only be placed on the wall or on the stand. Because you still have the BL8000 and BL2, you will end up with a very good solution with central speaker.

Imo the 7-40 is too expensive in comparison of the 8-40/10-40. 100% more than the 8-40, no way!

The BV7 series was initially marketed as a replacement for the Avant, if you remember, the BV7-32 cost exactly the same price as an Avant 32.

It is no longer true because the prices have gone up, and now the BV10 is seen as an alternative to the Avant, design-wise at least, because it has no internal DVD-player, nor HDR.

The BV7-32 hasn't been updated for too long, I think, I sold mine when LED & DVB-HD came out, I would suggest getting a BV10-40 or maybe have a look at the second-hand market for BV7.

I'm in a similar situation , just can't believe there's no alternative to the avant anymore , an all in one super tv at a sensible price.

The 7/40 with NO speaker is £6,000 !!??

The avant was c £5k when I bought it but it had everything including the kitchen sink built in.

If the OP is closer to the East Coast side then I would recommend a day train return to Newcastle (a lovely ride in its own right past some wonderful golf courses overlooking the sea) to visit the B&O shop in Gray Street which is one of the best on the world (sadly I have not managed to visit Trip's yet!)

on another thread it was just mentioned that one of the Scandinavian countries is offering a BV7-40 deal where if you buy the telly and a speaker they will throw in for free the bluray drive and the motorised stand.

As a Scot, I find this statement to be completely true. People in Scotland are happy with the average and I think that is reflected in their buying decisions. My father and I don't suffer from the infliction.

This may have contributed to the situation somewhat.. I've no idea why it would be for any other reason, as contrary to belief there's a lot of money in Scotland! The only other reason i can think of is sparsity of people, but if Aberdeen and its oil money can throw in the towel then i'm left scratching my head....

Seems in Scotland there are not many guys willing to spend some money for B&O? Otherwise I do not understand there is only one dealer left.

Jap, that right. "Naked" telly with remote Beo4 only. Add 4,000 Pounds for the full equipment speaker BL7-1, motor stand, DVB-module.

Thats why I have choosen the 8-40.

Andy, only 2 dealers for whole Scotland? Not much, we have 2 dealers in Germany in a city of 150,000 people. In total 130 dealers for Germany.

Of cause you are able to use your BL8000 and BL2 with the BV7-40. BV7-40 has 7 powerlink outputs. You can download the manual of the BV7-40 from the original homepage of B&O. There are many many options for the speaker setup.

I am looking to replace my avant with a new beovision 7.

We only have 2 dealers in scotland now, my nearest is 70 miles away so I'm looking

for as much info on cost etc before visiting the dealership. It's a while since I bought any new B & O stuff.

Looking at beoworld 2010 prices, what does the beovision 40 price (£6150) include?

Will it work well with my 8000's and subwoofer?

Any useful info will be appreciated
