Murphy's Law struck. After a nice Christmas Day weather wise it has become quite cool by our Australian standards with temperatures about 20C. Now the BG CD50 is not spinning up a disc Oh well, back to the workshop.

Can anyone tell me or point me to the way to do a oil change on the carrier motor? Also, can anyone tell me the size of the Allan Key used on the rotor shaft as I think I will need to undo that to remove the motor for servicing - happy to be told I am wrong!

Cheers

I have a BG CD50 which has the well known issue with the carrier motor oil just being slightly to thick due to age. I am yet to work out how to fix it by dismantling the motor but found another temporary solution.

Whilst those in Europe are in a freeze here in Australia it is warming up quite nicely. My workshop is in the roof space so gets a little warm to a little too warm for working in. I found that after a short stay in my workshop my BG CD50 spins up beautifully. May not be the best for long term storage but I have to make do with what I have. And I write this with B CD50 spinning a disc beautifully and again am taken at the lovely sound that it creates.

All the best.
