&lt;p&gt;if you want to connect your external STB to the HDR2, you have to register the STB in the SETUP menue of your HDR2 and you have to connect only one PUC cable between HDR2 and STB.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;But why don&amp;acute;t you leave the STB at your BV 7-40? Then you can use your STB only via HDR2 and not directly via BV 7-40. It is possible to record from your STB although it is connected to BV 7-40.&lt;/p&gt;

The HDR is connected via scart to both the STB and the BV 7. &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;1) Currently, my STB has an IR-controller via the Telly. When I tried it via the HDR2, it stopped working. Should there be two (2) controllers (one via the HDR and one for the tv) or just the one? &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;2) My HDR won&amp;#39;t start recording if I watch a channel and then change source to i.e. DVD or DVD2. &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Any ideas what might be wrong?&lt;/p&gt;
