German tax is 19%, so based on the US price the virtual price in Germany should 900,00 €. Real price 999,00 €

I was told that that all the first batch of Apple BeoSound 8s would be sold online, not on display. There is one DC BeoWorlder, Russ, for sure, but I imagine he is mourning the Redskins' loss right about now.

I was in the main Ohio Apple store yesterday and the BeoSound 8 was nowhere to be found.

I was in there buying a new iPod touch and wanted to get a set of A8s, they don't even carry those! Nor any Form 2s!

Are any of the Washington D.C. dealers here on BeoWorld?

I do think the UK price should be lower,esp if it is effectively available cheaper in other countries!

Most initial orders will be from the converted.Success of the product will be down to drawing in potential new B&O customers over the longer term.

Hope they do well with this though.A more compact version,Airplay compatible, at the right price would sell like the proverbial.

If any Beoworld dealers want to sell at £640...I'll take two.Happy to pay in dollars.

You would have to add appr. 30% - 33% for customs/VAT .... for Germany at least.

Then it follows that the us apple store price doesn't necessarilly suggest uk pricing, as alluded to in an earlier post.

In the US, Apple adds sales tax based on on of 50 state tax rates. I didn't know US apple store sells to overseas addresses. But if it is that much less cost in US, why not just buy it and find out. The price of beosound 8 sure isn't going to drop. Only Chinese tvs do that, or at least until there are labor and environmental laws there. Can't exploit people forever.

Are you absolutely sure that the U.S. price doesn't include taxes?

No indication when adding it to the cart that there are additional taxes to be paid...

Trying to figure out if there is price parity compared to the U.K. @ £895.
