If you don't have a settopbox controller you can only set up the first scart connection (AV).

Try to set it up with V.MEM in source menue or - if your Avant has a VCR - with V.TAPE2 and add it to your Beo4 commands (LIST).

Thanks for the tip..

I tried it on the weekend and it didn't work :/

I went in to Menu-source (Menu, 4, 5) and selected DVD under the AV list.

I exited then hit DVD on the Beo4. The screen goes black and the red light stays red on the HDR2. I tried unplugging everything from the mains and trying again, but still nothing

I also noticed that despite having the 2 spare scart connections, there is only the option for 1 setting in the setup menu! Am I missing something?

Plug it into into the Scart, set it up as a 'DVD' and off you go, relatively straight forward. I used mine with a VCR Avant.

Can anyone tell me how to get an HDR2 to work with an Avant???
