problem solved, VHS working fine and thanks for extra info.

Will have to get a digital box when the analogue signal is turned off, can I just plug the feed from the box into the VHS input?

Assuming no other external video source (e.g. SAT/Cable Set-Top-Box,...) is connected
fill in the menu as follows:

V.Tape AV Decoder
V.Tape None None

If other sources have to be connected use either the "AV" or the "Decoder" socket.
The menu offers you commands like "V.Tape2" ; "V.Aux" ; ... for that sources.

You'll have to "ADD" these commands to your Beo4 "LIST" to access these inputs

If Beocord VX 7000 type 458x is equipped with software (S/W) 3.0 or higher,
(order No. 8342818) the coloured keys on the Beo4 remote control can be used
for the CUE and SLOW functions. VX 7000 must have an SPR kit to function with
software higher than 2.0

Re: connecting VX7000 to Beovision Avant 28" DVD

You should connect it to the AV-connection named VTAPE (Scart-connector on the most left side seen from the rear of the Avant). In the menu you should also name this connection VTAPE. I would not use the AV-socket for V-tape since there is no tuner-dump on this connection.

Re: connecting VX7000 to Beovision Avant 28" DVD

Hi lausvi

Somewhere in the Avant's menus there is a part called Connections where you can assign different inputs to different functions (or buttons in your Beo4). In your case you should set the AV input to V.TAPE.

connecting VX7000 to Beovision Avant 28" DVD

Hi,

Have changed my MX4000 TV for a Avant 28" with built in DVD. How do I connect my VX7000 VHS player (that worked fine with the MX4000) to my Avant 28" TV. The only manuals I can find are for the Avant 28" VHS which has different connections. Have tried connecting to the Avant AV scart input and pressing VTAPE on BEO4 remote but get a blank screen and no sound. Will appreciate any help
