Yes, it is a capacitor used to smooth the laser supply in Beocenter 9000/9500 types.

The same circuit is not used in the Ouverture and it's derivatives but I believe there is similar.

I have just checked the service manual and I could be talking complete bo11ocks. I suggest you contact Dillen or Die_Bogener who will certainly know more than me!

Re: BS3000 CD Mechanism - Type

Thanks Graham - is c2103 a capacitor - not sure what you mean by that problem, but I'm sure the guy whose looking at will - could you explain a bit more please. Many thanks in advance

Re: BS3000 CD Mechanism - Type

It's proprietary I'm afraid so you can't rob one from another make although plenty of competitors do use the same basic mechanism.

The B&O kit will include the later CD Pro II and a new interface board.

In all probability, you do not actually need a new mechanisn. It is probably the familiar C2103 type of problem that occurs with all the other Philips CD servo boards and would cost pence to put right!

I am not familiar with the servo board used in the Beosound 3000 types but someone out there must be. Suggest you try Dillen or Die_Bogener.

BS3000 CD Mechanism - Type

Hi - my friend whose an engineer has had a look at my BS3000 and it needs a new mechnism - B&O have quoted £200 for the parts - does anyone know if I can use one from another CD player like a philips? or is it propriety? It's the large clamp one with N.Music etc.

Any help as always much appreciated.
